GOING BEYOND A SIMPLE TEST

We wanted to see what Shield
could really do

So we took Shield to a leading independent laboratory, to see how its performance really measured up against an anti-mould paint, a thermal anti-condensation paint and a standard emulsion.

Condensation testing

Shield significantly reduced condensation on walls

The challenge was 12 hours in a controlled, high-humidity environment. As condensation formed, the run-off from each painted surface was collected and measured. Then it was simply a case of seeing how the four paints compared.

Heroes Shield came out on top, with significantly less condensation than all other paints tested, including a leading thermal anti-condensation paint.

Thermal testing

Shield held on to more warmth for longer

The four painted samples were given the same 10 minute burst of heat.

Their temperatures were measured before the heat was taken away, then tracked as they cooled to see how much warmth each had taken on and how long they held onto it.

The results showed Shield held onto heat for longer, keeping the surface warmer as it cooled.

Behind the testing

Testing was carried out independently by leading laboratory Analysis Scientific Ltd, with Heroes Shield tested alongside a standard paint, a thermal anti-condensation paint and an anti-condensation paint under the same test conditions.

Testing covered both condensation and thermal performance, using coated steel panels for condensation testing and coated plasterboard panels for heat retention testing.
