Heroes Shield is an advanced anti-mould paint that keeps walls warmer, reducing condensation and creating an environment where mould can’t grow. Suitable for walls and ceilings throughout the home, but especially effective in rooms prone to mould such as bathrooms, kitchens and bedrooms.

Heroes Shield

1. Prepare your walls
Remove dust, dirt and loose paint, then clean painted surfaces with sugar soap. Treat any mould with Heroes Mould Remover and allow the area to dry completely.

2. Smooth imperfections
Fill any cracks or holes and sand smooth once dry. Fresh plaster will need a mist coat before applying Heroes Shield.

3. Apply Heroes Shield
Stir gently and apply using a medium-pile roller or good-quality brush. Apply two full coats, allowing around 4 hours between coats. Coverage is around 6–7 m² per litre on smooth surfaces.

4. Make it your own
Once dry, leave Heroes Shield as a clean white matt finish or apply two coats of Heroes Pure in your chosen colour. You can also use another suitable water-based paint.

With its low VOC, low odour formulation and advanced anti-mould protection, it’s designed to keep quietly working long after you’ve finished decorating. Heroes Shield can be used to tackle recurring mould or help prevent it before it starts. You can cover a small problem area or an entire room. Bathrooms, kitchens and bedrooms are the most common places to use it, but it can be used in any room you’d rather keep mould-free from day one. After all, mould doesn’t wait for an invitation.

Unlike many anti-mould paints that need to stay on the surface to keep working, Heroes Shield works even when painted over.

We don’t think protecting your home should mean compromising on how you want it to look. Use it as part of the complete Heroes system with Heroes Pure mixed in a colour from your favourite brand (yes, we can match it) or simply paint over it with any water-based interior paint.

If mould is already present, it needs to be removed before applying anything to the wall. Once the existing mould has been removed, Heroes Shield helps make sure you’re not just treating the symptom, but helping tackle what caused it in the first place.

Don’t worry, you’re not the only one who’s wondered that. It’s easy to think you have to choose between the two. In most homes, condensation and mould go hand in hand. Condensation provides the moisture that mould needs, so tackling both gives you a better chance of stopping it from coming back.

Instead of waiting for mould to become the problem, Heroes Shield taackles the conditions that allow it to grow.

That’s where Heroes does things a little differently. Traditional anti-mould paints are designed to protect against mould once the conditions for it to grow already exist.

Heroes Shield gets one step ahead of mould. As well as containing an anti-mould additive, it uses millions of microscopic glass microspheres to reduce the amount of moisture that forms through condensation. With less moisture, mould has less opportunity to develop.
